GENERAL PHOTOGRAPHY RATES
Commercial Photography
Commercial pricing is highly variable depending on the duration and complexity of the job. Contact me directly to discuss your needs.

Individual and Family Portraits
My basic portrait session rate is $200. There is a $100 non-refundable deposit required to book a session, and will be applied toward the $200 total bill. Sessions are booked for an hour-and-a-half, and you can schedule an extra hour of shooting during any session for $75.
Sessions can take place on location anywhere within a 30-mile radius of Shelbyville, TN, or in my studio, depending on the client’s desires. Travel beyond a 30-mile radius will incur a mileage fee, depending on distance.
All standard portrait sessions include professional retouching and 10-15 full-resolution and web-resolution image files. I offer high quality prints and canvas gallery wraps through my trusted printing partners, for additional fees, but you are free to have images printed at a printer of your choice.

Personal Headshots:  My standard rate for individual headshots is $200 for the shoot. There is a $100 non-refundable deposit required to book the session, which will be applied toward the $200 total bill.
Returning Clients: There is a discounted fee for returning clients of $175. There is a $75 non-refundable deposit required to book a session, which will be applied toward the $175 total bill.
Quick Headshot Session: If you just need one quick look for a website or Facebook page, I do offer a 30-minute session for $100. However, a short session like this is not without some risks (see the disclaimer in the following paragraphs).
Our standard headshot sessions take place on location or in my studio in Shelbyville, and our individual sessions last from an hour to an hour-and-a-half in length. There are several reasons for this. Most people are not terribly comfortable in front of a camera, and that uncomfortableness often shows up as awkward facial expressions in the images. This results in images that neither myself or the client is satisfied with, and I detest creating “quicky” images that do not satisfy. You (and others) are going to be looking at these images for months or years, and I want you to still be satisfied with them then. Also, these headshots are how you will present yourself on websites and social media to friends, family, associates, and customers. How you look in the images matters to me.
So . . . one of my jobs as a photographer is to get people to relax, so their expressions are genuine and flattering. This involves, in part, building rapport and trust with the client, and that simply cannot be rushed.
Another reason for a slightly longer session involves the use of lights. In general, people just look better when they're lit properly. Lighting people in a way that flatters them but does not draw attention to the lights themselves is an art that takes into account the shape of the face, skin tone and texture, and wardrobe, and the technical aspects of doing so simply take some extra time during a shoot.
As I hope you can tell, I care about creating images that present each client in their very best light. I take pride in doing this well.
I generally shoot a handful of different looks for our clients during the session. This allows us to create a mix of imagery that suits your purposes. I will discuss the images with you as we go. Together, we will inspect each shot one by one to determine its viability for use in representing you the way you want to be represented. You’ll leave knowing exactly what we’ve captured and that you’ll only receive images that have met your approval along the way.
Those things are what I work to achieve in our standard headshot sessions. If you still wish to book a Quick Headshot Session, we will do our very best to create a few good images under those constraints.
